This was an opportunity for our stakeholders – clients, our community and voluntary sector partners and statutory organisations - to come in, meet our team, hear about what we do in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Our Open Day also featured the launch of our ‘Inclusion Wall’, a project which was part of the Belfast Inclusion Festival GEMS NI clients worked with a community artist, Cony Ortiz to design a wall created in felt which represents the diversity of those we work with.

Maeve raised this money through the sale of the recipe book ‘Tastes of Belfast Today’ an inclusion project funded by OFMDFM. The recipe book has dishes from our clients’ home countries or family dishes that are typical or not so typical cuisine that they cook in Belfast (with some variations depending on available ingredients). As well as lots of recipes not to be found in ‘celeb chef’ books, Tastes of Belfast Today has some background stories about the recipes and the people they represent. We have a few remaining copies available at GEMS NI Offices and La Boca Restaurant in Fountain Street, Belfast for a donation of £5.
